Top Tips For Making Money On The Side

By Val Pinnington

It's pretty obvious that the economy is not getting better anytime soon. In fact, many in the financial world are predicting several more months of trouble in the United States. With this news looming ever more real in the lives of everyday Americans, many are turning to side jobs or cash jobs as a way to make ends meet.

So how can the average, everyday working Joe make a little extra cash?

Outdoor Cash Job Ideas

Cleaning Rain Gutters: It seems simple, but one of the most overlooked outdoor home maintenance tasks is clearing out the rain gutters. During the year, they fill up with leaves and other debris that can clog them and cause water buildup, or worse, ice damming in the winter. If you are willing to work safely and get up on the roof, you can make some pretty good side money cleaning out gutters for homeowners.

Window Cleaning: Believe it or not, washing windows can be fun. You can get a lot of customers fast, and the results are immediately visible to both you and your customer. Just be sure to use quality window cleaners and lint-free cloths. This cash job also makes a good repeat revenue stream as people will hire you to wash their windows two or three times per year.

Power Washing Homes: Most houses nowadays are made of some type of siding. Vinyl siding is by far the most popular, and this presents a great cash job opportunity. Vinyl siding gets covered with dirt and sap all year long and can appear dull and faded. If you are willing to invest a couple hundred bucks into a gas-powered pressure washing, you can make good side money cleaning the exterior of houses. In addition, you can power wash the driveway and sidewalk while you are there.

Snow Shoveling: I know the cold air and wind is not the best of conditions to work in, but if you consider earning $30 in 30 minutes a good deal, then it may be something to consider. Shoveling snow is very lucrative and if you are reliable and do a good, thorough job each time, you can earn hundreds of dollars during the cold, gray winter.

Washing Cars: Think about this: people wash their cars in their own driveways. But what if you knocked on the door and offered to do it using your hoses, soap and sponges but they just supply the water? You can charge $10 for a hand washing and get jobs all day long. Once again, look for the repeat business and see if you can set up a weekly visit to keep that baby shining!

What I'm trying to hammer home here is that you can pick just one of these cash jobs and go out today and start earning money. Get out now and work hard; you will be rewarded.
