The Artistic Soul at Connecticut Festivals

By Mariano Dela Vega

Every form of art holds a piece of the artists soul; whether it be that of the actress's eternal beauty in film or the memory of a person's act in the minds of her audience. But crafting, as an art, is even more special than that. Its physicality makes it unique; for it becomes a tangible piece of the craftsperson's soul. All in all, you will have a more personal experience with this particular type of art.

These crafts are also unique in that it has a greater longevity. Containing a piece of the artist's soul, the craft will most likely outlive its creator. The object lingers for a very long time, guaranteeing that the memory of the craftsperson lives on in history.

It is precisely for this reason that many people find it worthwhile to practice craftsmanship. It's simply human nature; we seek to live forever, if only in the memory of the future generations. It drives us to do what no other species in this world has done; we make our mark by physically altering the things around us. That is the essence of crafting; and in a way, it helps us achieve immortality, of a sort.

Aspiring craftspeople should also think about showing her works to the world, not just to her friends and relatives. As such, they look toward the various craft shows all over Connecticut, hoping to showcase their crafts to the greater populace. It is their hope that their crafts will spread all over the state.

Peddling their creations is not an easy task for many craftspeople. After all, the majority of them still maintain their day jobs; some of them even believe that directly funding their lives through their hobby cheapens it. At best, they believe that it should just be extra income.

Thus, craftspeople find that the Internet is an immense help for them. Not only can they sell their crafted works online through websites, but it makes finding the right craft shows a breeze. It is the information superhighway these days, and the task of hunting for events is way quicker and trustworthier than waiting for fliers.
